I know about the authentication one, and I will be working on it.

Congratulations, Laddie!

For the record, Brennan has been working his ass off this term-- and for once it has proven very fruitful! He has been accepted to go on exchange to Glasgow next year, which means that his big sister is going to have to come visit him. :)
Big sister, on the other hand, is dealing with a load of *&^&^$^(((*&%$% from this institution they call a school the COLUMBIA ACADEMY in Vancouver. If anyone reading this has ever had any desire to go into Sound, Radio or Television performing arts, do NOT attend this school. It is a patronizing, insulting, uneducational, insulting excuse to suck money away from people wishing to further their educations. I graduate on Monday, and it can't come soon enough.
I was told tonight that I get zeros on my attendance in class last week because I left 10 minutes early after I had finished my work without "asking permission". The egos of the instructors here are so huge that I'm honestly surprised they can fit through the doors. It's very evident that none of them have a stitch of common sense, common courtesy, or idea of how to teach.
The temptation to blast the instructors during my last on-air shift tonight was VERY strong... but I daren't stoop to their levels.

29 weeks

Evidently, this is what is going on with our little weed this week. Another site told me she is about 17 inches long, and weighs about 3 lbs. (Thank goodness its not ALL me:-) She is so active now it is fun just sitting and feeling her move around. Everyone keeps telling me to get as much rest as possible now, so I am enjoying lying and feeling her move around.

For the past six weeks or so, your baby has been listening to your voice (along with the voices of your partner, older children, and anyone else who's been talking to your belly). Speaking to your baby is not only a key part of prenatal bonding, but may also form the basis of language development. Babies who have been spoken to in utero recognize and turn to familiar voices immediately after birth. There may also be links between prenatal stimulation and the development of speech and IQ. Conversely, studies have shown that songbirds hatched from the nests of silent foster parents don't sing.

For Presidents Day - Whitehouse quote of the day

Asked for comment, White House spokesman Ken Lisaius said, "The president makes policy decisions based on what the best policies for the country are, not politics. People who suggest otherwise are ill-informed."

Found here

Am I the only one who has difficulties believing Mr. Lisaius and the faction he represents?

Thanks to www.dictionary.com, here's the definition of Politics:

Pol–i–tics
n.

  1. The art or science of government or governing, especially the governing of a political entity, such as a nation, and the administration and control of its internal and external affairs.

  2. The activities or affairs engaged in by a government, politician, or political party: “All politics is local” (Thomas P. O'Neill, Jr.). “Politics have appealed to me since I was at Oxford because they are exciting morning, noon, and night” (Jeffrey Archer).

  3. The methods or tactics involved in managing a state or government

  4. Intrigue or maneuvering within a political unit or group in order to gain control or power

  5. Political attitudes and positions

  6. The often internally conflicting interrelationships among people in a society

Everything Bush does is politics, whether it be the best policy for the nation or not. I think people suggesting otherwise are the ill informed ones.

BTW here's the origin of President's Day. Here I thought we were celebrating ALL presidents. Actually we're just celebrating George's birthday (Washington that is...the current George was born on July 6, 1946)

And Dirk jumped 10 meters (30 feet)...

For my wife, the closet Clive Cussler fan...

Clicky Here

This is the second time, Dirk has hit the big screen. We'll see how it does compared to Raise the Titanic. Looks like it could be a cheesy guilty pleasure...just like the novels. I wonder if Clive is in the movie?

Why I hate Internet Explorer!

So I'm working on a webpage for Jen. Making it all XHTML goodness, CSS, you name it. Since I'm a Mac type guy, I check it out first on my machine:

  • Safari? Check

  • Firefox? Check

  • Opera? Check

  • Netscape? Check

  • IE 5.2.3? Check

So I move over to Windows to check things out.

  • Firefox? Check

  • IE? Check..whoa! LOOKS LIKE CRAP!

Png transparencies suck. CSS support sucks. '? Nope...need to replace it with ' thank you very much. Why does IE suck so bad? Why do people use it? I'm going to go to the store so I can get away from this for a while. End of rant....

Comments are back (finally)

Hey all...finally got comments back and working. I've been slacking on fixing this, and decided that I'd spend some time today fixing up a variety of things. Upgraded wordpress, put in a new springy thingy behind a door, upgraded the server, sanded and painted some drawers, fixed a bug in Illustrator etc.

Anyways, hopefully we can start putting some more content on here. We do actually get visitors from outside the family reading this thing (believe it or not) so try and make it interesting eh?

13 weeks to go

Here is the latest on how the baby is doing:

Your frisky fetus is on another growth spurt, shooting up half an inch this week to measure about 14 inches from head to toe. She weighs roughly 2 1/2 pounds, and will gain approximately half a pound each week for the next 10 weeks. The average full-term baby weighs about 7 1/2 pounds and measures from 18 to 20 1/2 inches, but many normal, healthy babies fall outside this range. Unless your practitioner has told you of a potential problem, it's safe to assume that your little one is right on track.
