So I surprised the Illustrator team Monday morning when I gave my two week notice to Adobe. As of Jan 23rd, I will no longer be an Adobe employee, but instead will be joining the Mac client team at Google. Unfortunately I can't tell you what I'll be working on, but it should keep me out of trouble. I'm going to be working with a pile of incredibly talented people (like this guy).
The commute is going to be a bit longer for me, but I'm extremely excited about the work and culture change.
So it's less than 2 weeks into the New Year, and I've already done the major change in my life. Love getting those resolutions over with early...now I've got the rest of the year to relax ;-)
Link for those of you wondering where the title came from. It's actually something my friend Craig used to say all the time, but I never knew where it came from.

Ooh. Ooh. Can you tell us what you will be working on ?? :P
Congratz!
Ooh. Ooh. Can you tell us what you will be working on ??
and here I thought that "Unfortunately I can't tell you what I'll be working on" was pretty unambiguous...
Sorry...the usual "I could, but then I'd have to shoot you" applies :)
Thanks though...feel free to drop be the Googleplex and say hi. Lunch is on me....
Does that free lunch apply to me as well? Congrats Dave. Sounds like a ... mysterious job, but I'm sure it will be quite an interesting challenge.
Woohoo!
Congrats Dave! I can't wait to see what you'll be doing at Google!
Free lunch for me as well? Way to go! Lucky Google. I'm sure you can tell me what your working on. Right??? I promise not to tell....:-)
Hey, congratulations!
Hey, that’s a great lost for Adobe... and a great win for Google! I’m sure you will add a lot of deep and commitment at you new job (as you have done for Adobe and illustrator). By the way, Keira is getting so cute over time. Good luck, I will miss you.
Can you tell us and shoot Aki? :-)
Seriously, dude, congratulations. I look forward to hearing of your exploits at the googleplex.
Btw, Great Googly Moogly appears to have originated in the blues. I heard it courtesy of Mojo Nixon way back when. Or was it Zappa? Actually, I think it was Zappa.
Totally awesome, Dave. Have a blast.
AWESOME! FREE LUNCH!
Seriously, I am very happy for you although people at Adobe are pretty pissed that they are loosing you. They all said "we need more MacLachlan, not less!".
